In a previous post I said I wasn’t going to race in 2012. Well I’ve “raced” twice in the past 2 weeks. Except these two weeks have been very different. Instead of my typical 3-12 day races, these were 10-20 minute races. Also, since my car-bike accident, my body isn’t anywhere near where it was 8 months ago, but the pain is finally subsiding allowing me to get back on the bike and race. The thing about these races is that there has been absolutely no preparation, no decision until pretty much the last minute and best of all no pressure. I finished 6th overall today even with a minor derailleur mechanical, but more importantly I got real muddy, I had a huge smile on my face and I really had a fun time! Below is the course.

  1. That’s been my mantra since having Ellie. My body hasn’t recovered from the surgery as quickly as I had hoped but not participating was harder than finally agreeing I could do it for fun. Glad to hear your body is giving you the opportunity again. :)
